Weekly Review
A decentralized system is like a field full of rabbit holes. There is much hidden, internal burrowing and development along many mutually exclusive personal lines. Yet there is this almost invisible cohesion, as well as tension. And it seems to require a fair number of rabbits periodically poking their heads up above the surface to check in with the other rabbits in the field to maintain a certain group consensus about general direction and status. There is a need to zoom out and coordinate so that this type of system can grow and evolve through unity between the particular and the universal, self and group. Point being, decentralized systems still involve a strong groupthink dynamic in order to survive and thrive.
Decentralized systems usually fail due to an overabundance of competing selfish factions and a lack of sincere dedication to the community as a whole. View the history of representative governments in history who failed to strike a solid balance between the general and the local. But is this still not better than totalitarian top down control systems? I think so. In the end, I prefer chaos and freedom to coercion and control. How about you?
This week at Community DAO we continue to explode on the Nigerian front. We collected almost 75 reports from mostly new members coming in during the last 3 weeks since Nigerian society has suffered severe political and economic turmoil. We spent a fair amount of time documenting this in the last issue, focusing on the country’s decision to reinvent its currency amidst national elections. This week we continue to have reports giving more detail, pictorial and written, about the situation.
We believe this to be, on the whole, a golden opportunity to embed Ravencoin and C0MM/DAO’s distinct brand as a lifeline for degenerating modern civilizations still on legacy fiat models or those being coaxed into the CBDC nexus, a true nightmare for all of us who recognize the corrupt nature of central banking and governance. But this work involves a service type mentality. We are helping people in need here at the Community. Community is about support.
Another big development next to the increasing membership and report writing, is the introduction of our new County Fair project. This involves a category in our Discord that features key discord gaming bots, each manned by a new booth operator who is also a trusted member of our organization. So far, we have a “Dice Booth” manned by Dani Beehive and a “Go Fish Booth” manned by Danoskie. Within each one, there are opportunities to play games, and to win C0MM and/or NFTs. Many more booths to come!
In addition, we made an advisement for Week 53 to create NFTs that are “County Fair Prizeworthy.”
Our design contests brought in 634 designs this week. Yet another record!!! Check out Evilra’s incredible indexing work on these submissions: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1T4w9snORc0ap8Dn7vHHpJONBhQ7NOMXBL75pfQWdjz0/edit?usp=sharing
And stay tuned as our contest unfolds over the next few days.
We would like to encourage all friends and members of Community DAO to check out our editor, Dr. Alina Okun’s poll for best cover design for the imminent book she has been actively developing about our Nigerian collaboration, which will be entitled, “Meet you in Calabar: Memories and Life in Nigeria.” Isn’t that a cool title? And see cover art by a top RVN female artist, Indybows!!! Please go here and vote on your favorite design to help give us some feedback as we prepare this seminal text for publication soon: https://99designs.com/book-cover-design/contests/eye-catching-book-cover-grabs-people-attention-1215470/poll/f25891f75f/vote?utm_source=voting_app&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=voting
Finally, our snapshot of the Ravencoin blockchain as we concluded asset distribution for the previous week. A 2nd place finish is not as good as a 1st but we’ll still take it!
Ok! Let’s step aside for the Community here to speak forth again.
Have a great week!
Best,
Dow Harris

My First Day at Stadium 🏟
I remain my humble self, Joyce Baby. I got an invite from one of my admirers who took me to the stadium in Akwa Ibom State, Uyo.
History was made in Uyo by the administration of former Akwa Ibom governor, Godswill Akpabio, when the magnificent Ibom Stadium, also known as the Nest of Champions, was commissioned on November 7, 2014.
My friend gave me a brief history about the stadium. He told me that the beautiful edifice was modeled after the Allianz Arena in Germany, the home ground of reigning German Champions Bayern Munich, and is arguably the best stadium in Africa. He also informed me that World Cup qualifying matches were played in the stadium.
We bought tickets for the Nigeria Premier League match between Akwa United and Enyimba United. Akwa United wore orange jerseys, while Enyimba United sported blue ones. Akwa United was the home side, and Enyimba United was the away side.
The entire stadium was so noisy that at times I couldn't even hear my friend speak. He explained to me that there are eleven players in a team selection and also shared some of the rules and regulations of football. Though it was kind of confusing, it was cool.
I asked my friend how grown-up men could chase a round leather ball ⚽, and he laughed at me, saying I wouldn't understand.
The match ended with United winning two goals, and the whole stadium erupted in jubilation. We left amidst the celebratory atmosphere.
My Love for Music 🎶
I have loved music so much ever since I was a kid. My dad used to play some old-school music whenever I woke up in the morning, and on my way to school, he would also play some reggae selections.
Everybody in my family was musically inclined, from my sisters to my mum and cousins. While my sisters sing a lot of gospel songs and love to listen to Westlife and Backstreet Boys, one of my favorite songs is titled "Empty Street".
I grew up in a Christian home, and my sisters were in the choir. One of my sisters sings so well that I always liked going with her to rehearsals to watch them practice their songs.
She really helped me with my musical career by teaching me all the DOs and DON'Ts while singing. Some of the "DON'Ts" include not taking oily substances whenever I want to sing, avoiding cold drinks, and knowing the key that is favorable for me when I want to sing. She also emphasized the importance of breath exercise and pitching high to expand my vocal cords.
With all her schooling and mentorship, I can now go out on my own to events and sing, and people get blessed and transformed.
Music is something I cannot go a day without. It has the power to heal any issue of life at any time.
My love for music is eternal.

PADE
The Photography, Arts, and Design Exhibition (PADE) by Ecobank Pan African Centre (EPAC) was conceived to help showcase the brilliant arts of Nigerian creatives to the world.
PADE is inspired by the global effort to celebrate creatives through World Photography Day and is a foremost platform for harnessing the creativity of the African continent. The theme for the exhibition was "A Canvas For Africa’s Creatives," which gave photographers, artists, and designers the opportunity to showcase their pictures and creative artworks.
The event was a one-week program held at Ecobank EPAC. My colleagues from the digital onboarding unit and I were all asked to wear our native Ankara attire representing our tribes.
I represented the Yoruba culture and wore a blue agbada native wear, which looked really good on me based on the compliments I received from people.
Some of my colleagues represented the Igbo and Hausa cultures.
The hall was decorated with different arts and pictures, which were very colorful. We had to take photos in front of each background.
Some of the artworks being displayed were very expensive. When we enquired about the price of one of them, it was close to one million.
PADE by Ecobank was a success, showcasing all kinds of arts and beautiful pictures.
Signing out of B.sc (Economics)
It was February 27th, the day I wrote my final exams for my BSc degree at Akwa Ibom State University. I woke up past midnight and revised extensively because I wanted to submit my exam 15 minutes before the deadline. My sign-out outfit was ready: a white polo, blue jeans, sneakers, two-colored markers (black and red), a beautiful chocolate handbag that was gifted to me by my dear friend, and my sky blue pullover customized with "Amazing Grace."
This was a moment of overflowing joy for me. Finally, I was going to be a graduate and relieve myself of school stress. No more 7am classes, impromptu lectures, bulky assignments, and lots more.
I put on my outfit, and I looked spectacular. I didn't need anyone to tell me this because my mirror was at my service. Then came the moment of becoming a new graduate, and my neighbors hailed and congratulated me. I stormed into the campus with a shining face and got to the exam hall. Then I saw a new side of my coursemates. They looked so different, and my female coursemates appeared on makeup and were amazingly sweet.
The joy of the day couldn't let us revise before the exam. We were busy signing each other's polo while waiting for our examiner. He showed up 10 minutes before the start time, and we wrote quietly. But no one had the patience to complete the two-hour paper, not even me. I didn't finish, but I had to submit and leave so that I could start screaming. The exam wasn't that tough, so we all came out and screamed everywhere.
We hired a live brass band group, and we danced excitedly as we headed to the school's main gate for more pictures. We were interviewed by the school's press club, where we expressed our joy. There were photo splashes everywhere, so much joy, and lots more.
Later that evening, there was an after-party. It was a very memorable day. CONGRATULATIONS To Me!
Dear NIGERIANS,🇳🇬
We have come nearer to another important moment in the history of our Dear Country, NIGERIA.🇳🇬
Over the past eight years, the trajectory of our economic development, education and wellbeing has taken a sustained deviation from the Norm.😩
Most of us have been been in school for over eight years and still counting. Those who are graduating are only consoling themselves with the mantra of "I will Japa" considering the unfavorable prevailing working conditions and financial remuneration, but how long will we continue like this?🥺
How long can we bear the stripes of incessant strikes, poor health care infrastructure, unmotivating wages policies and insecurity of lives and properties?😕
The problems are vast and our concerns are valid.
However, the decision still resides with us.🤷
Our Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo' once said,
"You cannot wish well for our dear country and yet go ahead to vote for people you don't believe in"💯
As we'll be going to our different polling units, please vote for the right man, vote for a man of proven integrity, track record, lofty plans and compassion/affection.✅
We have evolved beyond politics or party and sentiments. We're interested in individual capacities.📌
A new NIGERIA is possible if only we vote CORRECTLY and WISELY, omor, we've been voting wisely but it's been beyond our wisdom mbok Nditor-Eka🥺
Go out in Mass, and cast your votes.✅
VOTE LABOUR PARTY (LP)✅
VOTE PETER OBI FOR PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA🇳🇬
While at this, remember to also vote for distinguishing for Senate and House of Representatives positions in your locality.
The President cannot achieve anything substantial with an overly Antagonistic Legislator📌
✓DO NOT SELL YOUR VOTES PLEASE😭😭
✓REMEMBER TO VOTE
✓WAIT FOR YOUR VOTES TO BE COUNTED &
✓ENSURE IT'S BEEN TRANSMITTED.
I'm praying for a very peaceful, free and fair elections BUT be steadfast and security conscious as much as you can.🙇
God bless ALL Nigerians🇳🇬
God bless the Federal Republic Of NIGERIA 🇳🇬
GOD BLESS PETER OBI 💚
The Election
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election followed the widespread Endsars protests across the country, which were sparked by the harassment and abuse of citizens by police and other security forces. The protests were a result of a general sense of dissatisfaction among young Nigerians who felt unsafe in their own country and believed that the government was corrupt and only acted in its own interests. As a result, the youth and the nation as a whole were eager for change and a new beginning. During the election, many citizens were excited to participate in the democratic process and cast their votes, hoping for a fair and transparent election.
However, some polling units were not allowed to vote, and the announcement of the results was delayed for three days, which raised suspicions of foul play. It was later revealed that the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was allegedly bribed to rig the election in favor of a particular party. This was a disappointing outcome for those who had hoped for a free and fair election that would lead to a brighter future for Nigeria.
My Desire
Living a life that I never wanted to live sucks. It's like forcing yourself to do what you never wanted to do.
My desire is to be an aspiring model, having my own brand, taking it outside the country, and being famous and outstanding.
Seeing young girls with gifted bodies on the walkway makes me even more eager. One of my goals is to be the voice of young ladies, helping them have boldness and courage.
But life hasn't been on the same page with me, with challenges coming from various parts of life. Starting as a face model made me happy, but along the line, I got discouraged and stopped.
Who would have thought that I could reach that level? I gave up on everything and tried to heal and move on, but it wasn't easy. Now, I have moved on.
As I sit here, I desire to be a social media manager and a UI/UX designer. I yearn for it, even if I don't see it coming. But I visualize it, and each day I wake up, I see myself being a UX designer and a social media manager.
Technology is dominating the world with new innovations brought out every day, so I don't want to be left out. That's why I'm joining the tech world.
My Food Experience at the Airport
So, I rushed to the airport to catch a 6 pm flight to Lagos. At about 5:55 pm, Air Peace announced boarding for a flight to Lagos, but it wasn't my flight. I asked a staff member to be sure, and he confirmed that my flight had not started boarding yet.
Okay, I thought. If they are boarding an earlier flight now, it seems that flight was shifted, and ours may be shifted too. I was very hungry but decided to wait for about 10 minutes to see if we would board.
We didn't board, and I decided to go and eat their unnecessarily expensive airport food. The rice here is two thousand naira, the fish is three thousand naira, and the tiger nut is one thousand naira. Immediately I ordered my food and paid for it, then descended on it like a hungry lion. That's when they announced my flight boarding.
How do I leave food I bought against my will just to quench my hunger? Six thousand naira wasted! I used my clear eyes to buy this small fish for three thousand naira, and the least they could have done was to allow me to eat it. I'm in pain. Missing my flight is not an option.
Right now, I'm sitting in the airliner, and the only thought crossing my mind is my food. I feel like I've been chinmarked. The fish I bought for three thousand naira hurt me the most.

My Day at the Snooker Shop
Lovely day to lovely people! Yesterday was not as stressful as usual because I had a day off from work. I decided to have some fun with friends, so my friend Joshua invited me to a popular game shop in his area, and I gladly accepted the invitation.
When we got there, we chatted and also debated about the state of the country's elections and how they were rigged. But we concluded that the Lord would see us through.
After the discussion, we started playing snooker. It was really interesting because I had just started learning the game last month, but I was able to make some great shots. Although I lost all the games we played, I was still happy that I played the game well. Many people were cheering me on, but when it was time to play the black ball, I kept putting it in the wrong pocket, and they all laughed. But aside from losing all the games, I was still happy because I had not spent time with my friend in a while.
After the game, we stopped over at another friend's place, Victor, who offered us food. We ate and continued chatting because night was approaching. I had to call it a day and went home happily.
Friendship
Friendship is a relationship between two or more individuals who share mutual affection, trust, support, and understanding. Friends to me are actually people who are there in your life to help you achieve something, but some people have bad friends that also help them destroy their future.
Emmanuel is my friend. We met in year 2, and I must say we have been flowing together. He is from the Edo tribe, while I am from the Akwa Ibom tribe. Ever since we started being friends, it has been a blessing. Not only that, but Emmanuel also became my roommate from year three in school till after school, and I must say he has really been a good guy. Though sometimes annoying, it is part of life. We forgive, learn, and keep going, which makes our friendship stronger.
[Me with Emmanuel]
I also have another good friend that I met in school. Her name is Angela. This is one person I never expected our friendship to go far, but her kind gesture and advice have helped me a lot. I remember when I was financially down, she played a great role in sometimes bringing food to me and also introducing me to friends in school that I could do homework for and get paid. I really appreciate her friendship, and I am always happy when I offer help to her because she was really good to me.
Overall, friendship is an essential aspect of human relationships, and it can bring immense joy, comfort, and support to our lives.
Me and My Sister
Happy new month, everyone! It is a thing of joy that I am a part of the living today. My write-up is all about my one and only lovely sister. Her name is Uwakmfon, and she is someone that I say has been very instrumental to my life.
Ever since we lost our mum when we were young, it has always been us and our dad. I will say that my sister is the best, from caring for me and my dad to also providing for the family through her hairdressing business.
I am very proud of her, even though we were not opportune to go to higher institution. But the love we have for each other has made us take good care of our dad and also made us achieve a lot together. Currently, I work as a bet9ja manager, though I rarely have time to cook. But my sister will always find a way to come home to cook so as to make sure that my sick dad eats and takes his medication.
My sister has always been the best when it comes to advising me about how I should deal with life and also my relationships. When I was really down and depressed, she was always there to comfort and also pray for me when I was sick.
My sister has always been my strength, and I will always love her. I pray that God keeps and blesses her. Thank you.
My Gas Business
I am a guitarist, and I also have other sources of income. I am talking about one in this write-up, which is refilling of cooking gas.
My cooking gas business will be a year old in August. I started it when I lost my job, and music wasn't giving me the kind of money I wanted. So, I ventured into refilling cooking gas with part of my savings.
The cooking gas business is very lucrative and profitable. I started with the sum of 300 thousand naira. I paid for my shop rent, mechanic scale, testing pool electronic scale, valve screw, fire extinguisher, and a 60 kg cylinder.
After that, I got my license from the Department of Petroleum Service (DPR), and I also registered my business with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (CAC).
I told my friends in church and neighbors that I had started refilling gas, and it helped me have more customers.
The cooking gas business can be risky as it may result in fire explosions, so one must be careful and avoid smoking or making calls around a filling gas plant.
I've noticed that refilling cooking gas is becoming increasingly lucrative, as more Nigerians are embracing it. Many people are switching to gas cookers and abandoning traditional methods of cooking.
Christiano Ronaldo's life as a Lesson
Many people consider Cristiano Ronaldo to be one of the best soccer players of all time. There are many things we can learn from his life off the field in addition to his extraordinary talent and dedication that led to his success on the field.
The need for self-control and perseverance is one of the most crucial things we can take away from Ronaldo. Throughout his career, Ronaldo has put forth a lot of effort to develop his skills and accomplish his goals. He practices his craft for hours each day, keeps himself physically strong, and has never shied away from going above and beyond to succeed.
Setting objectives and working hard to achieve them is another thing we can take away from Ronaldo. Whether it's winning a certain match or competition or hitting a personal milestone like scoring a specific number of goals in a season, Ronaldo has always been clear about his objectives. He has continually applied himself with commitment and focus to achieving these goals, and as a result, he has had extraordinary success.
The importance of resilience and tenacity is another lesson Ronaldo's life imparts to us. Throughout his career, Ronaldo has encountered many obstacles and setbacks, including injuries, domestic disputes, and severe competition from other players. Despite these obstacles and setbacks, Ronaldo has always risen stronger and more determined than before. He has never let setbacks ruin his career or his dreams, and he has always been willing to work hard to get what he wants and overcome challenges.
Finally, Ronaldo's life serves as a reminder of the value of thankfulness and humility. Ronaldo is incredibly successful and well-known, but he maintains a humble demeanor and is constantly grateful for the support of his followers, teammates, and coaches. He is quick to show thanks for his many blessings and always works to help others through his charitable endeavors.
There are a lot of things we can learn from Cristiano Ronaldo's life. He is a tremendous inspiration to everyone who aspires to accomplish greatness in their own lives, from his discipline and tenacity to his resilience and resolve.
My Childhood Experience
As a child, I had both funny and sad moments. On the sad side, I lost my mum at a very young age, and it was tough for my dad to take care of us all by himself. But he never gave up.
The interesting part of my childhood is how I spent my holidays at my grandma's house. I had playful and unforgettable experiences with my cousins and loved ones.
Now, growing up is kind of difficult because the care and love that I had as a child are limited. I feel uncomfortable asking my parents for anything.
I am still an undergraduate in Nigeria, and I am an average student trying to improve my grades in school.
I used to hear stories about how intelligent my late mum was during her school days. My dad and family members encouraged me to follow in her academic footsteps.
However, in Nigeria, your grades in school do not necessarily determine your success and wealth in the future. As the saying goes, "You can't get rich from the salary you earn, but by your skills."
I remember a time when I fell severely ill, and it nearly led to my death. But I overcame the sickness and kept pushing forward towards my dream of becoming a better person in life.
Parents Take Care of Your Children
My name is Meyene, and I am a young girl with hidden talents who has lost her way in life.
This is my story: I am the youngest child in my family, and I thought being the youngest came with pride. Unfortunately, in my case, it came with sorrows and agony. I was rejected from birth because my father wanted a male child. Due to God's will, I became a female, and that's when the humiliation started. My childhood was something I try to forget. I was molested by my father's brother countless times from the age of 5, and my father painted me as the bad omen in the family.
No one believed in me, and I lost focus in life. I tried my best to be my father's favorite, but nothing worked. Later, I learned that my father was seeing someone else, which was somehow my fault, and I think my mother hates me for that, which brought separation to their marriage.
I felt lost and started school, but I was doing both good and bad. Along the line, my father's business started to crumble, and I had to skip years for my siblings to go to school. During this period, I can't say much; I was just a walking corpse, and depression took over me. Though my father always tried to see us happy and never maltreated us, I liked him for that.
Things became better again, and life moved on. However, in 2020, I lost my father, and that's when I saw the other side of life. My mother maltreated me and all of that. I can't give every detail, but life was hell back then. I struggled to finish school, and in 2021, I went to Abuja to work as a maid for someone.
The first year was hell.
I had to adapt to the life I was brought into. Things fell apart. Sleepless nights, tears before sleeping, overthinking... I became a fan of everyone. I liked them though. In everything, I just decided to be here.
To be continued....
Parents take care of your children.
Children matter.
Life matters.
Day at the Beach
The city of Lagos, the most populated black city in Africa, is blessed with numerous water bodies which have given rise to over thirty beaches, all varying in location, price, neatness, exclusivity and popularity. Some of these beaches include Landmark beach, Tarkwa bay, Golden beach, Onuiru beach, Honeyland beach and others.
Yesterday, I decided to visit the Golden beach which is located about ten kilometers from my house. Being a loner, I was in need of some time alone and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. I spent most of my time in the backshore and foreshore dancing and playing in the shores, as I'm still an amateur in swimming. I also indulged in some ice cream and fries and enjoyed the stares from people around. At some point, a tall and handsome guy approached me and we had a pleasant conversation. By 4pm, I was tired of all the fun and decided to head back to my lonely abode.
Give It Time
Listening to Azonto (the original version, not Wizkid) is giving me memories.
When that song was released, I was a teenager and unsure of life. My peers were already deciding what to study in university, taking the next big step, and I was totally confused, just following the flow.
Years later, I've never been more sure of my dreams.
When that song came out, my age mates were playing it with Blackberry Bold and the rest. I had a Nokia torchlight 😂. Everyone around me was up and about with the latest gist on 2go. I created my 2go account then using a borrowed phone.
Is it the fact that everyone knew how to dance Azonto, and I felt like an alien? I could never move my legs or hands the right way 😂.
It's ok not to know where you're going currently. Take it one step at a time. A few months/years from now, you'll look back at your past and laugh at how childish you were 😂.
Give it time. As long as there's life, you'll have anything you want. Your dream phone will fade away soon but you'll be able to afford the best in your time.
Give it time.
I still do not know how to dance Azonto 😂.
Hopefully My Vote Counts
Nigeria, my country, is blessed with so many talented and creative people.
On the 25th of February 2023, the election for the next president of Nigeria was held. We all came out in mass to vote for the candidate who will make Nigeria great again.
My polling unit was at Ward 3 Uyo Urban at CKC Nursery and Primary School. When I arrived, I was directed to the board where the names of eligible voters were pasted.
It took me a few minutes to find my name, and after I wrote down my serial number, I joined the long queue. The INEC officials were trying to put the voting materials in place, but there were issues with the network not connecting and accepting voters' card accreditation.
We all complained, and officials like EFCC, Army, and police were on the ground to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair election in my unit.
After I cast my vote, one of the youth corps members marked my finger with black ink to indicate that I had voted. I folded my ballot paper and dropped it in the ballot box.
When everyone had voted, the INEC officials started counting the votes of different parties. In my unit, the Labour Party had the highest vote.
Maureen in CommDAO Community
Hello, my new friends in the Community DAO. I go by the name Maureen, and I am the youngest of my three lovely brothers.
I have lived in Lagos all my life, starting in the mainland area of Ikeja when I was a kid. It was always so noisy and crowded with traffic.
After some years, my dad got promoted at work, and we moved to the island area of Lagos, which is cooler and calmer.
I love football because I grew up around guys, and I had no option but to join them in watching football matches on TV. I support Chelsea football club, and my favorite player is Didier Drogba from Ivory Coast.
Everyone in my home supports Chelsea except for my older brother.
I went to Command Secondary School and furthered my education in Higher Institution, studying Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.
I'm gifted with many talents. I love to dance and sing, and I'm also a makeup artist. I can bring out the beauty in you and let the world see it.
I owe my skills to my mother, who instilled in me the passion to become the best at what I do. I specialize in bridal makeup, as well as makeup for birthday shoots and casual occasions.
You can support my brand, which is called Imageone House.
Lady in Red
My favorite color is red and it has remained so since my high school days. I vividly remember telling everyone how much I loved anything with the color red. As I grew up, I wore mostly red dresses, red nail polish, and red lipstick when going out on a date. The red color has been associated with danger and violence, but it does not affect how I feel about it. I feel great whenever I put on a red dress. My course mates in school even nicknamed me "Lady Red".
The "red dress effect" is a phenomenon in which a woman wearing red clothing, such as a red dress, is perceived to be more sexually appealing than when wearing other colors. Red is the color of love, passion, and blood. It incites a scene. Whenever I put on red, I get easily noticed. Wearing red shows that I am expressing character, independence, strength, and determination.
My New Environment
Being new in a place isn't funny at all, especially when no one understands your dialect, nor do you understand theirs. So it was my first worship experience in Niger state. I woke up still contemplating where to worship, considering lots of factors, such as distance and dialect. I didn't want to just worship anywhere. Being new, I really needed someone with whom I could communicate, at least someone from my state. The funny thing was that no one spoke English; all I heard was Hausa here and there. I had to deal with this alone. Actually, there were about six churches surrounding me, but I was confused about which one to go to. They had names I hadn't seen nor heard before, so I allowed my spirit to lead me. I prepared and headed out.
I stopped at the one whose building was a bit bigger and finer. I was surprised there was no usher, so I ushered myself into a seat. The moderator spoke in Hausa throughout the service with no interpreter, and I was totally lost, but I had to endure till the end. Their order of service was quite different from what I knew. The choir there was amusing, and I couldn't help but laugh during their ministration. It was a women's choir, and they sang for more than thirty minutes, singing in their dialect with local drums and a female conductor. The songs were randomly selected; they even had to use one of the songs for offering (just the choir). I was really bored and sat without talking to anyone until the end of the service. Then I told myself that I would never come back there, not for any reason whatsoever. Everything and everyone were weird or, should I say, awkward, so I decided to take these shots in remembrance of the day.
My Visit to Other Students Traditional Ruler
Hi guys, I'm excited to share my experience meeting other student leaders who hold the same position as I do but come from different tribes.
Wednesday was a great day because we had planned to meet up. I woke up early, did my house chores, and dressed in traditional attire before heading to the venue. When I arrived, I saw people from different places and we greeted and introduced ourselves.
After a brief prayer, we started the meeting by sharing our different ideas on how to ensure that the students can benefit from us by letting us know their current issues, and we as leaders will share it with the school authority and follow up until the situation is settled.
After the meeting, we elected a leader since we all couldn’t just troop to the office to make complaints. The leader was Eze of the Igbo students. He promised to make sure he didn’t fail us and also promised the traditional leaders that he would keep the traditional society of the students strong day by day. We were happy and celebrated a bit, took pictures, and went our separate ways. It was really a happy moment.
My Thursday Ride
No, it's not what you are thinking....
When my Bolt driver arrived at the pick-up spot, I made sure to introduce myself before getting in the car.
The driver had a good body structure. I was impressed by his dressing and how fluent he spoke.
Once inside the car, he asked if I was doing okay, to which I replied I was. I returned the favor and asked if he had a great day.
"This is my last trip, and then I head home," he replied.
"It's still early," I countered while looking at my watch. It was only 10 pm.
Before he could answer, he asked me a question that is too common in this part of the world: "Where are you from Vicky? If you're okay with me asking."
I replied to him.
"You don't sound like someone that is from this part of the world. You're so full of energy. It seems as if the economy is not affecting you."
I chuckled. I then found myself smiling. Things are hard and crazy, but what should I do? I can't change situations, but I can change the way I react.
"You earlier said this is your last trip. Why is that? You should give it a try if the night ride will work."
He said, "Fine gal, I have a brand new baby girl. She is 4 days old. I have to go home and help out."
I could tell the joy in his heart because the tone and demeanor changed when talking about his baby girl.
"Is this your first child?" I posed.
"No, I have a 10-year-old son. This is my first daughter, and I am scared," he shared.
"What do you mean you are scared?" I wondered.
"I don't know how to raise girls. I am scared about being a good daddy to a girl."
Woah! But you look so young to have a ten-year-old son.
"Well, I got my first son when I was in high school." There was a pause, and then the conversation got deeper, and that's where I asked:
"How was raising a child in your high school?"
He stared outside of the window, as if he was looking for answers from the streets, then offered:
"I was raised by two wonderful parents. They weren't wealthy, but they were great parents. They wanted the best for me. But there was something about me growing up; I just wanted to be a bad boy. I fancied that lifestyle."
"What made you feel that way?" I asked him with an empathetic tone.
"I wanted to be a king in the streets, but I had no crown. One thing I have to admit, being a daddy felt great, though I was consumed by my desire to do bad things and mingle with the wrong people."
The conversation switched to a lighter note:
“So why are you scared of raising a daughter?” I asked.
“People say it’s hard raising a daughter,” he offered.
“And what do you think?” I kept the conversation going.
“I don’t know. I am learning on the job. It’s just been 4 days. What I mean is the future, I don’t know how to be a dad to girls. I don’t know what they need from a father…”
“I think it’s okay to be afraid. That way, you are self-aware. You have raised a boy at your tender age, and that same experience and the lessons learned are what you will use when raising your daughter….be the best father so that she will tell the world, ‘my daddy rocks.’”
“How did we get here? Are you a therapist?” he asked me.
“No, I am just a lady having the best ride with the best driver ever.”
My First Program with Sharon’s Family
When a friend invited me to Sharon's family, I shrugged.
I told her I don't attend programs like that and I am always busy.
She laughed and said to me baby girl, give it a try.
A tree can not stand on its own and form a forest.
You're always too busy.
I embraced myself and honored her invite.
Omg 😱😱 when I stepped in, the place was filled with love.
The beautiful faces greeting me were amazing.
I had never seen people this welcoming.
At the end, I told myself I must be a member.
During the Sharon's Day, they decided to go with the yellow color.
The thing is my worst color is yellow and when we were given yellow color, I cried my stomach out. I was like "Káse Yellow" (see yellow).
But today yellow has entered my list of beautiful colors.
There were a lot of inspiring talks and shows.
I didn't even feel new. It was as if I had been with them for years.
It was amazing.
It was beautiful.
It was indeed colorful.
I was really happy to discover this amazing home.
Truly I have found a place where I can call my home.
It was SHARON DAY.
It was Sunflower 🌻 yellow ❤️
It was Color flying.
The Pains in Marriage
Not only do we have higher expectations for people close to us, but we also have more expectations of them than we do a stranger. Unmet expectations can cause us to feel hurt. The more expectations we have of someone, the higher the likelihood is that they may fail to meet that expectation.
In life, the majority of women think that marriage is the best achievement in life. Because of this, they focus mostly on it and forget about self-actualization, goals, career, and dreams. Especially when a child comes in, women sacrifice their self-worth in order to give the child a good life, home, future, and a good name.
Loving the husband is a goal for 85 percent of decent women in the world because of the love, they trust, believe, care for the husband, pray for him, take care of the house expecting to be loved in return, but all they get is betrayal of trust. This is where the pain in marriage comes in and it leads to conflict. If there is ongoing conflict in your relationship, it can be difficult to develop intimacy. It is not easy to feel close to someone you are arguing with. Anger, hurt, resentment, lack of trust, or a sense of being unappreciated strengthens the bond of pain.
But what if I tell you this is an analogy for what happens when married couples accumulate their emotional hurts and wounds in marriage? When wounded, most people slap on a band-aid that provides superficial relief in the short-term. But as the offenses stack up and nothing is done to clear the air, a hurt can grow into resentment, bitterness, or hatred.
When a hurt occurs in our marriage, it is not uncommon for us to ignore or nurse the hurt or hold onto it with resentment or thoughts of revenge. We often think burying the pain will somehow make it go away or secretly wish time will heal all emotional wounds. The unfortunate truth is that it does not.
When we leave conflicts unresolved and hurt unhealed, these may drive a wedge in the relationship. Avoidance will gradually lead us into an unhealthy zone, sometimes even resulting in “emotional pains”. Marriage does not exist in a vacuum, and the effects of these unresolved hurts can spill over to those who are closely related to us. Children are often the victims who suffer the ill effects of a troubled marriage.
My Visit to the Village
On the 2nd of March, I had an unforgettable experience. After spending three years away from my village, I finally decided to pay a visit. The hostel in the city had been locked due to the ongoing country elections, so it was the perfect time to go.
At first, I wasn't keen on travelling because I preferred to stay in the city with a friend who had a lodge. However, my grandma kept calling me and expressing her desire to see me, so I agreed to visit.
On Thursday morning, I woke up early, packed my bags and headed to the motor park. I had booked a bus the previous day, and fortunately, it was still waiting for me when I arrived. Although I was scolded for delaying the journey, we eventually set off and arrived safely.
Upon reaching the village, my grandma was ecstatic to see me. She prepared my favorite soup - pounded yam with melon soup - and I savoured every bit of it. Shortly after, my childhood friend, Precious, came to visit and told me about the village stream. I was intrigued and quickly agreed to follow him there.
When we arrived, I swam and swam until I was exhausted, but Precious was a better swimmer than me. We had a great time catching up and reminiscing about the past. That night, we returned home after having a wonderful time at the stream. I must say it was one of the best moments of the year for me.
From the picture you will see me in the canoe having fun. Our stream is very big that people come here to fish.
Thursday was a really happy day to me.
The Gamer
I never fancied playing video games during my teenage days. I had lots of friends who spent hours playing PlayStation 2. I seldomly watched them trying to outplay each other. I kept wondering how they derived fun and so much pleasure from pressing game controllers and making the CPU do as they wished.
The story changed recently as I decided to try out new things. I was enticed by the fantastic features of PlayStation 4 games. I decided to start my gaming career early last year. However, my progress rate has been very fast. I have successfully and unsuccessfully challenged a lot of professionals. In these few months, I've become a "gamer." I spend most of my leisure time playing games, from football, wrestling, racing to adventure games.
I plan to get myself the new PlayStation 5 in the nearest future. During weekends, I can play games with my friends and siblings.
My Love for Football
While growing up, I fell in love with football to the extent that I would give up anything just to play. I vividly remember the first day I participated in a tournament at my primary school. I was in primary 4 and we were to play against the primary 5 boys. Both teams played for several minutes without scoring. Then, one of my teammates passed me the ball, which was a bit farther from the goal post, but I wasted no time and fired a shot at the goal post. The ball bypassed the goalkeeper and went straight into the net! I couldn't believe it was my first goal in such a big match! My teammates shouted and celebrated the goal, and the match ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of our team. Since then, I have played football in several tournaments and scored goals that helped my team win trophies. However, I stopped playing football for a while because I sustained a serious injury that made it difficult for me to run faster while playing.
Another thing that really interested me about playing and watching football was Thierry Henry of Arsenal FC back then in 2006/2007. Thierry Henry played a major role in my love for football with the way he played and scored a lot of goals for Arsenal. This really pushed me to become an Arsenal fan and funny enough, I’m still a die-hard Arsenal fan.
My Election Experience: Nigeria Decide 2023
My resolve to vote in the recent presidential election was tested in more ways than one.
On the election day, nobody from INEC showed up with voting materials until after 1 o'clock. And voting didn't begin until just after 2 p.m. because officials had to return to the office to get a new BVAS code. After a lengthy delay, voting finally began, and three hours later, a female INEC official announced that polls would close at 5:30 p.m. From the crowd, two men emerged, one holding a bottle of whisky and the other a lager beer, and asked, "When said she wanted to end voting?"
The INEC officials obviously misjudged the size of the crowd that would show up for the exercise hence it was too much for them to bear. We finished the exercise early at 8:30 because some of us decided to become INEC volunteers.
As light faded, someone brought his generator and an immediate emergency contribution and fuel fund was established. We borrowed a PA system from a local church. The INEC staff sat at repurposed tables and chairs from private homes.
Individuals continued to provide refreshments for them and for those of us who were supporting them. When you felt a tap on your shoulder, it meant someone had brought you a zobo drink, malt, water, or biscuits. To tell the truth, voting is a very frustrating experience due to the extreme incompetence of INEC. Even though many of us arrived at the polling unit as early as 7 a.m., INEC officials did not arrive until the afternoon.
Some people even went out and bought "pure water" to give to others. In order to protect their right to vote, married men and women abandoned their families and spent the day at the polling place. The blind woman who was accompanied to the polling place by a man I assume to be a relative is one of the many unforgettable images from that day.
A woman who is partially sighted was among the many senior citizens who visited that polling place. They were the source of my greatest sense of accomplishment.
Some people helped out by volunteering. Some of the people there gave us a good laugh with their comments. Many people shopped within their means and split costs amongst themselves. The craziness peaked at times as well. That day, I saw the most well-organized security presence I'd ever seen in my neighborhood.
The police would impound your car if you were caught driving to your polling place. There's logic behind giving voters a polling place that's within walking distance. Seeing all the young people working towards a better Nigeria gave me hope, but I also knew that they had learned a hard lesson at the hands of the weak leaders who had plagued Nigeria in the past.
I hope INEC deploys more youth corp members (particularly males) to assist with the upcoming elections.
My Political Ambition
Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend. It's good to be back. Last week, I shared a write-up about stepping down as the Director of Information to run for the office of the president. Well, it's a dream come true now as I have been cleared to stand for the election. Despite several petitions from my opponents claiming that I didn't deserve the post, God made a way and the election committee cleared me, and told me that I am free to contest.
As soon as I was cleared, I had to print my poster and start campaigning right away because the election is drawing near. But before that, I had a photo session because I needed a picture for my poster.
After the picture, I started consultations. I consulted with the previous Exco of which I was a part, and they blessed me and promised to canvass votes for me. I was very happy. I also did a class-to-class campaign so that I could talk about my ambition and manifesto to everyone. I had to spend many sleepless nights praying and also called my parents and relatives for prayers.
The school election will be held on March 15th, and I am ready and optimistic that with God and the students' votes, I will come out victorious. Thank you for the opportunity.

A Welcome Back for Me
It feels good to be back to making designs after my Twitter account ban. I guess I wasn't very lucky on that aspect.
Few months ago, I was known as @Cryptolord_Z on Twitter. The account brought me closer to what happens on that platform. I went further to making quality designs to be minted as NFTs via COMMDAO and added to its Ravenist NFT corral. This dream came true and my designs were minted and added as well.
In the month of February, my designs (NFTs) got sold and I was rewarded as promised by DowDAO, the project lead, after my Twitter account faced ban.
The high level of discouragement vanished after receiving my RVN from him and I made a promise of coming back to making designs.
To do that, I proceeded to Airtel office to get a new sim card in order to create a new Gmail and Twitter accounts. That was easier for me since I've experienced ban and what caused it.
I got my sim registered and functioning, got back my AI image generators and began work with the new account @zcryptolover.
One event that surprised me was the determination and a belief in myself to walk under the hot sun which seemed burning and scotching. My shadow was clearly seen and my fingers changed to reddish brown.
By the way, I thank God for life and success.
First Sunday of the Year
Last year didn't end well for me, so I stepped into this year with high expectations. The first Sunday of the year, I knew I had to go to church and pour out my heart to God. I felt an intense need to talk to God because I really wanted this year to end well for me. On that day, I was so happy to be in church. The praise and worship was extraordinary, and everyone was overwhelmed. People rolled on the floor, and it was obvious that everyone was grateful for seeing a new year.
That was one of the best church services for me because I went in with full expectations, and I believe God will grant my heart's desires. So far, the year has been terrible with many things happening in my country. However, hope is not lost, and I know that God is in control. He will definitely put smiles on our faces.
I was really touched at the end of the service, and my spirit and soul were elevated. I am confident that God has something great in store for us, and he'll shower his blessings upon us.
My Celebrity Crush
I haven't really been into Nollywood movies until lately when I suddenly picked up an interest. Surprisingly, I realized that the Nigerian movie industry is really doing very well, and I was amazed at the quality of movies they are releasing now. While enjoying my Nollywood movies, I happened to find one actor very attractive. His name is Kunle Remi, and to be honest, he is a very good actor.
Kunle Remi, whose birth name is Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi, is a Nigerian actor, producer, and filmmaker who has featured in a lot of movies. In as much as he is a handsome man, he is also very good at interpreting his roles. His composure is top-notch, his delivery is almost perfect, and his calmness is everything to me. Funny thing is, I went all the way out to do my research, and it doesn't seem like he is married. That alone makes me feel like I actually have a chance with my newfound crush.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of his movies so I can crush on him even more. I know for sure that he won't disappoint me, but then I'll just see how it goes. Cheers to my newfound crush.
Fuel Scarcity
Fuel scarcity has been a major problem in Nigeria for months now. Filling stations are overcrowded because only a few of them are selling. The price of petrol went from 195 naira to 450 naira. The price of diesel and kerosene also inflated drastically, making the cost of transportation very high and, in return, making lots of businesses experience a major setback.
People queue up in stations for hours without being able to buy fuel. Some people also go as far as making sure they're at the station by 5am just to ensure they get fuel to run their day. For a country with barely 10 hours of electricity, households are really suffering from the effects of the scarcity. Businesses have become very slow because the scarcity has increased the prices of goods, making it difficult to purchase.
It's really very difficult for us Nigerians at the moment, and we're hoping the government will do something about it. The owners of the stations are also making things hard because, on so many occasions, they just shut down completely even when they have enough fuel to sell. The government is yet to address the issue, and we hope something will be done about it.
Love in a Wedding
Love is truly a beautiful thing, and I was fortunate to witness that of a colleague from school. Chi-Chi is a good, happy, and cheerful person, making everyone around her happy, hence making a lot of people like her a lot. It was a thing of joy as she broke the news of her wedding to the class. We immediately set out to plan and come all out for her to ensure her big day was great and successful.
We set out yesterday for her wedding en masse. I was dressed in a special attire as one of the bride's friends, popularly called asoebi. Immediately, she screamed so loud for joy, hugging each and every one of us in her wedding dress, and she looked really beautiful.
Saying "I do" to her heartthrob melted the hearts of many, causing tears to roll out of the eyes of a few persons. I was especially happy as I danced so much during the event. I congratulate her and hope that she has a happy home forever. The most exciting fact is that I made my dress, and it was really pretty."
A Dull Monday
My Mondays are usually very busy, but this week was different. I woke up early in the morning, said my morning prayers, cleaned the house, and made breakfast for myself. After that, I went to work around 8 am, expecting it to be a busy day. I arrived at work early, cleaned the shop, and prepared for the day. However, by 11 am, no customers had shown up yet. I felt very bored and lonely at the shop, so I decided to take some pictures of myself and make videos on Snapchat to pass the time. It wasn't until 2 pm that my customers started showing up. I could never have expected my Monday to be so boring and lonely. I even closed the shop early due to the low turnout of customers. I usually close at 10 pm or even 11 pm, but that day, I closed around 9 pm.
After that, I decided to go find an eatery so I could have dinner since I didn't prepare one that night. I don't wish to have such a dull day again, especially on a Monday.
My Childhood Memories
I was relaxing in my room yesterday around 12 noon when I heard my neighbor scolding his children for not doing their household chores. He was particularly upset with his eldest daughter and told her she should have directed her younger sister or completed the chores herself. In his voice, he asked, 'What if your sister is not around? Won't you do what you're supposed to do?'
This reminded me of my teenage days when my cousin and I would fight at home over our positions, that is, who was the eldest amongst us. This was because I was her senior in school, in a higher class, while she was older than me. I couldn't accept the fact that my class in school didn't matter, and that she was still my senior.
I didn't want to accept it. Why would I accept it when I wanted to be the boss? The one giving out orders, appointing duties to everyone, and sharing the meat after meals. You know, the eldest goes home with the largest share of everything. Well, you can't blame me because I was thinking like a child.
As I grew older, I realized that the firstborn position comes with lots of responsibilities that sometimes scare me. You don't only share with others, but you also have to give up your meat for someone else to eat. I was thinking as a child when I was a child.
I'm grown now, so I know better.
My Goals
One of my greatest goals in life is to become as independent as possible. I strive to be able to provide for myself and to be self-sufficient in all aspects of my life. I believe that having the ability to take care of myself is an important part of feeling empowered and confident in my own life. I want to be able to have a successful career in something that I am passionate about, while still having the freedom to do things that I enjoy in my spare time.
This includes having the freedom to travel and experience different cultures, and to be able to give back and help others who are less fortunate than I am. I also want to be able to live in a comfortable home and to be able to provide for my family. I want to be able to live a comfortable life by having a steady income. I believe that having financial security will allow me to enjoy life more fully, by having the freedom to make choices about how I spend my money.
My ultimate goal is to be able to enjoy life and to be happy in whatever I choose to do. I want to be able to look back on my life and be proud of the choices I have made and the accomplishments I have achieved. I believe that if I am able to become independent and self-sufficient, I will be able to achieve all of these goals and much more.
My Last Weekend
My last weekend was possibly the most enjoyable one I've had in a while. My weekdays are typically repetitive and difficult, so I always look forward to Saturdays and Sundays. Unfortunately, my weekend is too short, so I try to make the most of it. Last Saturday, nothing out of the ordinary happened as I was at school till 2 p.m. and then came back home to relax with my family. I helped my mum cook dinner, and we all watched a good movie, a parody called "Meet the guardians." The film had no visual effects or computer graphics, but it was sweet and funny. At 7 p.m., I had a long froth shower, which was such a delight that I usually reserve it for weekends. After that, I spent a couple of hours reading an amazing book and fell asleep with the book in my hand.
Sunday was different. I woke up later than usual, had breakfast, and did some housework while listening to my favorite music. Then my friend called and invited my brother and me to "The Event Congregation."
The weather conditions were great, and I concurred. So, we took a bus and went to the amusement park. We had so much fun. We went on a Ferris wheel and different types of rides like water rides, train rides, and swing rides. We shouted loudly. I think all children love the rides. Even though my younger sibling could have done without them, he got frightened and, surprisingly, cried in some cases. After that, we all went out to shop as the need arose to find a birthday present for my mom. And I found a beautiful scarf for her. I truly hope that she will love it. At night, we were incredibly tired but extremely happy.
It was an incredible end of the week.
My Sister, My Family
My sister is an important part of my family. I love spending time with her, whether it is going to the movies or just talking about our day. She is always willing to help me out when I need it, and I really appreciate her for that. I can count on her to be there for me when I need her, and I know she will always be there for me no matter what. My sister is a part of my family and she means the world to me.
She has been my closest friend since we were kids. We have grown up together and shared many special moments. I am thankful for her support, and understanding. My sister has always been there for me and has been a source of strength and courage.
She has challenged me to be a better person, be kinder, and to always look for the good in others. I am so grateful for my sister and the bond we share. She is the only one who truly understands me and knows what I need. She is my best friend, and I love her with all my heart.
My Proudest Moment
My proudest moment happened when I represented my school in a marathon race. It was a competition and I was really proud to represent the school. I had been training for months, and when I finally completed the race I was overwhelmed with emotion. I was proud of myself for pushing through and finishing despite the fatigue and pain. It was a long and grueling race, but it was also incredibly rewarding as I came first in the race.
The most rewarding part of the experience was the feeling of accomplishment I felt when I crossed the finish line. I had set out to accomplish this goal and I had done it. I felt proud of my hard work and the determination it took for me to complete the race. The feeling of pride overwhelmed me as I took in the crowd cheering and the emotion of the moment. The race wasn’t an easy one, but it was worth every step. I learned a lot about myself and my abilities, and it pushed me to reach for more.
I was proud of myself for setting this goal, for pushing through the pain, and for tackling the challenge. The experience was also a reminder that anything is possible if you are willing to put in the hard work and dedication. I felt proud of my accomplishment and it served as motivation to keep pushing and to continue setting ambitious goals.
A Visit to My Uncle’s POS Shop
My uncle opened a Point of Sale (POS) shop some years ago. It's been a while since I visited his shop because of the distance. But because of scarcity of cash, I decided to visit his shop to get some cash too. He is always willing to help customers with any questions they may have. It's been a while since I visited his shop, but I decided to visit him to see if cash would be available.
My uncle welcomed me warmly. When I told him I came to get some cash from him, he smiled and brought out the ones he had. Because of his selflessness, people around him have access to cash, despite its scarcity. I'm extremely proud of my uncle and his POS shop, and I'm sure all of his customers are too.
He has put a lot of hard work and dedication into this business, and it shows. His shop is a source of joy and pride for me and my family and to others especially during this period in which cash is scarce. He tries his best to make sure there's cash available for people to use, and I'm very thankful for all the work he has done.
My Garden, My Way Out
After another hectic week in the cashless season, I decided to adjust to the times because failing to plan in times like this will be the proverbial "Planning to fail" slogan.
Nigeria's currency continues to worsen as lots of people are without the legal tender even when they seem to have money saved in their accounts. Running a cashless system would have made more sense in Nigeria, but the bank networks are another drag hampering the progress of people getting their funds with ease.
It is even more pathetic that many POS (Point of Sale) merchants, as we call them here, have decided to charge an outrageous 40 percent on every withdrawal a person makes. Coupled with the fact that there is a bad network issue. Twice last week, I had to make unsuccessful transfers.
On Friday after work, I decided to improvise in these hard times and meet my basic needs. The first thing that came to me naturally was food, and promptly, it was a eureka moment when I thought of weeding the garden and planting food like cassava, pepper, sugar cane, water leaf, and many others.
I got a few pepper plants from a nursery and decided to plant them so I have pepper when they fruit. I also weeded an area around a cassava plant to give it a better yield. I believe the answer is just next to us and afar.
So look closely any time you feel you're being caged. There is an answer.
How I Mistekenly Broke a Window Glass
I was playing around with some friends one afternoon. At some point, we started using a stick to hit stones around us. After a few minutes, we thought it would be fun to throw the stick at a window. I assumed that it would just bounce off the glass and we would all have a good laugh.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Instead, the stick hit the glass and it shattered. Shards of glass flew everywhere and some even got lodged into my skin. I felt the pain immediately and started to panic. My friends were equally shocked, and we all just stood there, not knowing what to do. After regaining our composure, we rushed inside to get some first aid. We were able to get all the glass out of my skin and bandaged up the cuts. Thankfully, my injuries were just minor and I was able to heal quickly.
The experience taught me an important lesson. It reminded me that I should be careful and think twice before doing anything. Even though I thought I was just having fun, I quickly realized that careless actions can lead to serious consequences. From that day forward, I made sure to always consider the potential risks of my actions before proceeding with them.
Experience and Knowledge the Antidotes to My Fear
Some Saturdays are really exhausting, especially when you have lots of laundry to do. This was what I faced yesterday. I finished up with the laundry, and I was so tired that I decided to take a nap. I was woken up by the ringing tone from my phone. I checked, and it was a foreign number. In my mind, I felt the caller was a scam. It stopped and rang again, and I picked up the call. Then, I heard my local name from the other side of the call. I thought to myself that only family members know me by that name. Finally, I got to know who it was. We exchanged pleasantries, and then he asked, "how have you been able to survive without him?" A deafening silence ensued.
I lost someone so dear to me a few years back. I was scared, and I thought I wasn't going to be able to scale through life without him. People felt jealous of me because of him. He treated me like he saw something special in me which no one else could see. I was his favorite, but I lost him to death. How sad!
I said to the person on the other side of the phone that I experienced what I feared the most, and I have learned a lot through it. I survived it because of what I have learned so far. And I am living happily…
Most Memorable Day at Work
At the point when I landed my position, I was so eager to see what it would be like.
I had never worked at home before, so I began the day with some examination, and I was eager to see myself work all alone for the first time!
The first day I worked, I came up with a lot of ideas for the exercise manual, and I was eager to see how it would turn out.
The next day, the exercise manual was almost finished, and I was happy that I had worked on everything all by myself.
Without a doubt, my most memorable day at work was great.
My Friend's Medicine Shop
My friend's medicine shop is a small, family-owned business that has been in our town for many years. Located near a busy street, the shop is a place for people to get their daily medications. My friend is always willing to help customers find what they need. He is knowledgeable and friendly, and always has a smile on his face.
One of the best parts of the shop is the personalized service. He also offers advice on how to use the products and how to take care of them. He even goes out of his way to give discounts to those in need. When I visited him, I could see how passionate he was doing his job.
He listens to their stories and offers them words of advice and encouragement. It is a valuable resource for our town. It provides a safe, convenient place for people to get their medications and the personalized service that they need. It is a place of trust and compassion, where people can come together and talk about their health while enjoying the comfort of a friendly face.
Blissful Day
Blissful day folks!
I'm pleased to say that I am a servant of the Almighty God of Israel. My home is based on Jesus Christ, the cornerstone. My life is a declaration of simply expressing gratitude to God for me. I'm that young man for whom God showed mercy.
I needed to get up earlier today, not disapproving of what Satan did. Since I'm born in the image of God, as it was first and foremost, I rush to my maker to return all glory to Him. People may have said a lot, but in the end, God knows, God sees, God hears.
This is my declaration.
God saved me from the hands of a tricycle criminal. How I jumped down from a moving tricycle is still a mystery to me.
It can only be God.
My Little Garden
My little garden has some cassava and maize, waterleaf, and other vegetables planted this season. I like to spend time here, taking care of the farm, listening to the birds singing, and admiring the butterflies. I take pride in my little garden and try to keep it as organic and natural as possible. I use natural fertilizers and mulch, and I avoid using chemicals as much as I can.
I'm also mindful of the wildlife that passes through and make sure my garden is a welcoming and safe place for them to visit. I've found that it's a great place to come up with new ideas or just to be inspired by the beauty and serenity of nature. I also enjoy the pleasure of watching things grow, knowing that I created something beautiful and that I am contributing to the environment.
Having a little garden has taught me many lessons, such as patience and the joys of hard work. It has also brought me much joy and peace, and it continues to be a source of inspiration and creativity.
My Experience as an Industrial Training Student at the Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development (MPPD)
Industrial training is a period of practical training for students who are pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering, management, or any other related field. The Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development is a government agency that is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in the country.
As an industrial training student at the Ministry of Power and Petroleum Development, I worked on various projects and tasks related to the functioning of the power sector. I was assigned to work on power plants, transmission lines, or distribution networks. I also got exposed to real life practice I will encounter after graduation.
I worked under the supervision of experienced professionals who provide you with hands-on training and practical experience. Though it took me long hours and I performed tasks that require physical labour, I ensured that I followed strict safety protocols and adhered to the rules and regulations of the ministry.
During my training, I had the opportunity to learn about the various technologies and processes involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution. I also gained insights into the challenges faced by the power sector and the measures taken to overcome them.
Overall, industrial training at the Ministry of Power and Petroleum provided me with a valuable learning experience and equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue my career in the power sector.
The Beggining
The best romantic tales, they say, have the most capricious start.
This can be said about the journey of Akaka and Sonia. Not many years ago, magic happened on a social networking site called Facebook when a few likes brought back youth photographs of Akaka.
Everybody had a good laugh on the timeline, and it ended there. However, Sonia decided to take her laughter to his DM. This generated an instant spark, and the pair started talking in no time. Days turned into months, and soon, phone numbers were exchanged.
The two grew to be extremely fond of one another, and within a couple of months, they couldn't finish their day without talking to each other.
My Experience an Electrical Engineering Student
Life as an Electrical Engineering student has been demanding but enjoyable and rewarding. I was able to apply my knowledge and skills in a variety of projects related to circuit design and digital electronics.
My courses have allowed me to deepen my understanding of circuit design and digital electronics while at the same time broaden my knowledge of other topics such as signal processing, communications, power systems and control systems. Through my research and study work, I was also able to explore and better understand the basics of electrical engineering.
I've also had the opportunity to get involved in research and have been able to participate in projects such as the development of trainer for various unit measurements to help students in their practical work. This was a great opportunity for me to apply my electrical engineering knowledge and skills to real world problems.
Overall, my experience as an electrical engineering student was very positive and has allowed me to develop a better understanding of the field and also impact other students and people around me. I am grateful for all the opportunities that have been offered to me and I look forward to all that are yet to come.
A Challenging Situation and How I Overcame It
The experience of giving a presentation in front of a large group of people can be nerve-wracking, no matter how experienced you are in public speaking. This was the case for me today, as I had to give a presentation at work and was feeling extremely nervous. My heart was beating rapidly, and I was afraid that I would forget everything that I wanted to say. However, I reminded myself of the preparation that I had done leading up to this moment. I had thoroughly researched my topic and rehearsed my presentation multiple times. This preparation gave me the confidence to face my fears and push through my nerves.
To calm myself down, I tried some deep breathing exercises and visualization techniques. I visualized myself giving a successful presentation and feeling proud of my performance. This helped me focus my thoughts and channel my nervous energy into a positive attitude.
When it was time to present, I made a conscious effort to speak slowly and clearly, and to make eye contact with the audience. This helped me establish a connection with them and made me feel more comfortable. To my relief, the presentation went really well, and I received positive feedback from my colleagues afterward. This experience taught me the importance of preparation, positive thinking, and composure under pressure.
Farming Season
It's that time of the year where farming takes place. I grew up in a rural area where farming usually takes place and I have always been deeply connected to the land. As a child, I was fascinated by the never-ending cycle of planting and harvesting. I remember helping my father in the fields, tilling the soil and planting seeds. During the growing season, I assisted with the daily labour, pulling weeds and irrigating the land. I was especially fond of the summer harvesting, bringing in the bounty of fruits and vegetables.
As I grew older, I became more involved in the operation of the farm. I learned the business side of agriculture, from budgeting to marketing. My experience on the farm has shaped me in many ways, from giving me an appreciation for the natural environment to teaching me the value of hard work and commitment. I have also gained a greater understanding of the importance of sustainable farming practices and the role of technology in modern agriculture.
My time on the farm has been an invaluable experience. It has taught me to be resilient in the face of adversity and to find joy in the everyday tasks. I am proud to have grown up on the land and to have been part of the cycle of life that happens on the farm.
My Coconut Tree
I have been living in a small tropical town surrounded by coconut trees for most of my life. It was here that my love for the coconut tree was born and I decided to plant one. I have seen its branches reach high into the sky, providing a canopy of shade for me and my family to enjoy. I have watched its leaves dance in the wind, and its trunk stands tall and proud.
The coconut tree is a symbol of strength and resilience, something I have long admired. Its long roots can penetrate deep into the earth, and its thick leaves can take on heavy storms without breaking. This is something I aspire to - to be strong and resilient in the face of adversity. The coconut tree is also a symbol of abundance and nourishment. Its fruits are a source of food, water, and medicine. I have seen the tree provide sustenance to many people, and it is a reminder of the importance of taking care of each other.
The coconut tree also provides a sense of security and comfort. In my childhood, I would often take shelter beneath its wide branches when rain showers would come. I would also sit beneath its trunk and ponder life, and come away with a sense of peace and contentment. The coconut tree is a symbol of life and transformation. Its strong roots and branches represent the growth and development of life, and its fruits provide nourishment for the body, mind, and soul. For me, this tree will always be a source of inspiration and strength, and I am thankful to have grown up with it by my side.
My Moonlight Tale Experience
My first experience with the moonlight tales was nothing short of magical. It was a journey of exploration, discovery and wonderment. The night sky was illuminated by thousands of stars, and the moon was shining brightly above. The night began with a gathering of friends and family around a campfire.
We all gathered, played because everywhere was bright. We formed a circle, sat and started telling tales one after the other. We really enjoyed the evening. We shared stories, laughed and sang together. The night ended with the guide giving us a special gift - a star map.
It looked like we had gone on an amazing journey, and that made memories that will last a lifetime. As I looked up at the stars, I felt as if I could reach out and touch them. It was an experience that I will never forget. With the experience we had, we always go out almost every evening for a fun time.
My Experience During My National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Year
I was 23 years old, recently graduated from university, and ready to move on with life. So when I heard about the National Youth Service Program (which is mandatory for all Nigerians after graduating from a higher institution), I was ecstatic.
I could finally get out there and make a difference in the world. Little did I know, the year of service would be one of the most significant of my life and would truly shape me into an adult.
The first few months were challenging but satisfying. I served in a rural community, teaching economics to children and working with the Red Cross to improve health care infrastructure in an underserved area.
I quickly made friends with some of the local residents and got insight into their lives that I never expected. Before long, I felt completely embraced by my new home and was deeply connected to its culture and people.
I had started off simply by helping others but soon found myself on a mission to make permanent changes that would improve the quality of life for those around me.
My Uber Experience
My Uber (usually called bolt) experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The first time I used the service was to get to a student event. As I had never used Uber before, I was a little apprehensive. That apprehension was quickly replaced with delight as my Uber driver arrived within minutes, was friendly and informative and drove me safely to my destination.
Since then, I have used Uber for a variety of transportation needs, from getting to and from airports, to attending classes and even to get groceries. What I appreciate most about Uber is its convenience. The app is easy to use, the cars come quickly, and the drivers are always friendly. I also like that I can track my ride and get estimated arrival times for pick up.
With Uber, I don’t have to worry about finding parking or waiting in long lines to catch a taxi. Plus, I can pay with my phone and always know exactly how much my ride will cost. And if I run into any problems while on my ride, I can get help from their customer service team.
How Church Service Went
I recently attended a church service at my local church. The service began with a series of uplifting songs that brought a sense of peace and joy to the congregation. Once the music ended, the pastor took the stage and began to deliver a sermon that focused on how to live life to the fullest through Jesus Christ. He spoke of the importance of prayer and faith, and the power they provide to overcome any obstacle. He also spoke of the importance of fellowship with other believers and how it can help us stay strong in the faith.
The sermon was followed by a time of prayer, when members of the congregation were encouraged to share their prayers with one another. This was a powerful experience that allowed each person to share their deepest needs and concerns. After the prayer time, the pastor invited people to come forward and receive communion. This was a very special time of remembrance for Jesus’ sacrifice and his love for us. As I participated in the communion service, I felt a deep sense of peace and connection with the Lord.
After the communion service, the pastor invited members of the congregation to share testimonies of what God has done in their lives. It was an inspiring time that allowed us to be encouraged by each other’s stories. The church service concluded with everyone joining together in one final song of praise and worship. We sang of our love and gratitude for God and His goodness. As the last notes of the song faded away, I left the church feeling renewed and uplifted.
My Greatest Disappointment
My greatest disappointment in myself is my lack of effort. There have been so many times in my life when I have had the potential to do something great, but have failed to put in the hard work and dedication to make it happen. I’ve allowed myself to get too comfortable and to be content with mediocrity. I find myself often thinking about the great things I could have achieved if I had put in that extra effort and had pushed harder.
I have been disappointed in myself for my lack of performance in academics, sports and other activities. I was never really the star athlete or the one with the highest grades, but I could have done a lot better if I had put in the effort. I’ve had times where I’ve been so close to succeeding, yet I’ve failed because I didn’t put in that extra bit of effort or had given up too soon.
I believe that the only way to move forward and to avoid this disappointment is to learn from the past, (which I have) and to make an effort to be better. I have to set goals and stay disciplined in order to reach them. I have to constantly push myself even when it’s hard and remind myself that the only way I can overcome this disappointment is by putting in hard work and dedication.
Evening Stroll
I love evening strolls. They are a great way to end the day. I can enjoy the fresh air and the peacefulness of the outdoors. Tonight I took a stroll around the neighborhood. I walked along the quiet streets in the evening. As I continued on with my walk, I noticed that people were out enjoying the cool evening breeze.
The sight of the grassy fields and the smell of the blooming flowers was captivating.
As I continued my stroll, I noticed some guys driving around in a nearby park. I couldn't help but smile at the sight of them driving and enjoying the cool evening. Seeing them made me feel hopeful and reminded me that life is full of moments to be cherished.
Finally, I arrived home and stepped inside. The smell of dinner filled the air, and I realized how much I had enjoyed my evening stroll. I felt content and happy. I had taken the time to appreciate the beauty of nature and, in the process, had found a moment of peace.
My Sunday
I woke up early this sunday morning, prepared and left for church service. I have been attending this church since I was a child, and the familiarity of the weekly routine is comforting. As I entered, I was greeted by the warm smiles of the volunteers and the familiar sounds of hymns and music. I took my seat and prepared for the service. I was surrounded by the people I came to know over the years and I felt a strong sense of community.
The service began with a warm welcome from the pastor and the reading of the Scripture. The sermon was inspiring and thought-provoking. We were encouraged to reflect on the reading and share our own stories. I was humbled by the different perspectives and the powerful messages that our congregation shares.
The service ended with a song of praise. I always found this time to be very reflective and peaceful, because it reminds me of my faith and the importance of staying connected with my church family. I look forward to attending church each week and being in the presence of the people who I have grown to know and love. My church is a place of peace and comfort and I am grateful to be part of such an amazing community.
Weekends
Weekends are my favorite time of the week. On weekends I get to relax and catch up on things that I don’t usually have time for during the week. I can take a break from my routine daily and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. On weekends, I can go shopping, watch movies, or just spend some quality time with my family.
Weekends also provide me with the opportunity to explore new places and try different things. I love to explore my city or other attractions. I find these activities really enjoyable and it gives me the chance to relax and have some fun.
Weekend is also a great time to catch up on my hobbies. I take time to read a good book, or even just relax and take a nap. I find that taking a break from other activities really helps to clear my head and recharge. It also gives me the chance to reflect on the week and make plans for the following week.
My Experience as a POS Agent
MY EXPERIENCE AS A POS AGENT
Working as a POS agent has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. In addition, I've learned how to use different software programs and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise during a transaction. The best thing about being a POS agent is helping customers with their transactions. With point-of-sale, I was able to assist customers with their orders.
As a successful POS agent, with my excellent communication and customer service skills, I have been able to handle difficult customers with tact and professionalism. As well as be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
One of the biggest challenges I entered while working as a POS agent is dealing with difficult customers and network failures. Good communication skills is required as POS agent in oder to help customers resolve their issue. Though stressful, it's important to remain calm and professional at all times.
Overall, working as a POS agent has been rewarding expecially in this period when there's insufficient cash in my country (Nigeria🇳🇬), as I buy money at a certain price and sell to customers. In this period, I have made a lot of money to keep me going. It can also be a good entry-level job for those looking to gain experience in the retail or service industries.
Upcoming Governorship Election
As the upcoming governor's election draws near, I am excited to exercise my right to vote and make my voice heard. This election is expected to take place on 11th March and it is critical to the future of our state. I want to ensure that our next governor will make decisions that are beneficial and meaningful to the people of our state.
I want a candidate that has a solid plan to address our state's most pressing issues, such as education and health care. I want to see a candidate who will commit to improving our educational system and make sure our children have the best possible education. I want a governor who is committed to reducing poverty and providing a living wage to those who work hard. It is not right that so many people in our state struggle to make ends meet.
I am also looking for a governor who will be able to bring people together and serve as a unifying figure for our state. Our state is diverse and filled with people from different backgrounds, and it is important that we have a leader that values these differences and can bring people together. I hope to see a candidate who will represent the values of all the people of our state.
My Friend’s Birthday
My best friend’s birthday came up and I was so excited to celebrate. He’s always been there for me through thick and thin and I’m thankful to have him in my life. A few months ago, I decided to surprise him with an unforgettable birthday experience. First, I invited some of his closest friends and family to join us in a day of fun and laughter. We went to a nearby cafe and enjoyed food and drinks together.
To make the day extra special, I also organized a surprise gift exchange. Everyone brought small presents for the birthday boy and it was so much fun exchanging gifts and seeing the surprise and joy on his face. As the day wrapped up, I presented him with his main present.
He was so touched by it and couldn’t thank me enough. I’m so glad I was able to make my friend’s birthday as special as possible. It was a day full of joy and laughter, and I know he’ll remember it for years to come. I can’t wait to start planning our next birthday celebration!
The Wonderful Nature
The natural world is full of wonders that continue to inspire and amaze us. From the smallest microorganisms to the largest animals, the diversity and beauty of nature are truly breathtaking. In this article, I will explore some of the many aspects of the wonderful nature that surrounds us.
One of the most amazing things about nature is its incredible diversity. There are an estimated 8.7 million different species of animals and plants on our planet, each with their unique characteristics and adaptations. From the complex social behaviors of primates to the intricate patterns of a butterfly's wings, nature never ceases to amaze us with its incredible variety.
Another wonder of nature is its ability to constantly adapt and evolve. Over billions of years, organisms have developed countless ways to survive and thrive in their environments. From the camouflage of a chameleon to the bioluminescence of deep-sea creatures, nature has found ingenious ways to overcome the challenges it faces.
In addition to its diversity and adaptability, nature also offers us countless benefits. From the air we breathe to the water we drink, the natural world provides us with essential resources for our survival. Beyond these basic necessities, nature also provides us with many opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and inspiration. Hiking through a forest, watching a sunset over the ocean, or simply enjoying the beauty of a garden can all be incredibly uplifting experiences.
However, despite all its wonders, nature also faces many challenges today. Climate change, habitat loss, and pollution are just a few of the many threats that our natural world is currently facing. As humans, it's our responsibility to work to protect and preserve the natural world, both for its own sake and for our own well-being.
In conclusion, the wonderful nature that surrounds us is truly an incredible thing. Its diversity, adaptability, and many benefits continue to inspire and amaze us, and we must do our part to protect and preserve it for generations to come. Whether we're hiking through a national park, planting a garden, or simply appreciating the beauty of the world around us, we can all find ways to connect with and appreciate the wonder of nature.
Discovering a New Hobby
Today, I took a step out of my comfort zone and tried my hand at painting for the very first time. As someone who has always been drawn to art, but never felt confident enough to pursue it, I was both nervous and excited to see what I could create.
With some gentle encouragement from a friend, who had previously seen my artistic potential, I decided to give painting a shot. I gathered my supplies, including a canvas, brushes, and a selection of acrylic paints, and set up a small workspace in my living room.
As I began to mix colors and experiment with different brush strokes, I found myself completely absorbed in the process. Time flew by as I blended hues to create new shades, layered textures to add depth and dimension, and carefully crafted each stroke to bring my vision to life.
Surprisingly, I discovered that painting was incredibly satisfying and therapeutic. The act of creating something from scratch, with my own two hands, brought me a sense of joy and fulfillment that I had never experienced before. As I worked, I felt a sense of calm and focus that I rarely experience in my daily life, and it was truly refreshing.
Overall, my first painting experience was a resounding success. I felt empowered by the realization that I had a talent for something that I had previously deemed out of my reach. And, most importantly, I discovered a new hobby that brings me a great deal of happiness and creative satisfaction. I'm excited to continue exploring this new artistic medium and seeing where it takes me.
ITAM Market Visit
This market is called URUA ITAM in the native language. It has all the basic goods, products and services any human would desire in any settlement. URUA ITAM is situated in Akwa Ibom, Uyo local government. It is a very big market with an unknown number of shops. Crowded in daylight. The dumpsters are overflowing but although the Government did something by creating airy stalls, I just wish they cemented the footpaths between the stalls. You do not want to go here when it is raining. Trust me you will need to visit this market with a water resistant boot if you ever feel like it is going to rain because the mud slurry could possibly ruin your clothes and day. URUA ITAM is popularly known for its night market where I buy fresh fish and hundreds of other items after evening work.
Though the indigenes of Uyo and ITAM local government coexist in this market, there is always an argument about which locals own the market.
Craving Tapioca at the Right Time
Craving something that is not readily available at that particular time could be very frustrating, especially if you are not so comfortable with purchasing such food items outside. So, throughout the week, I have been craving TAPIOCA, but I could not buy it because I am used to having it made from home, and we haven't made it for some time now.
Tapioca is made of cassava and it has been one of my best snacks over time. After garri, this is another life saver in this part of the world. It goes well with lots of other complementary items such as peanuts or groundnut, fish whether smoked, grilled or cooked iced fish, it also goes well with coconut. Others may also choose to eat it with palm kernel nuts if it is available. But I never knew I was craving it at the right time because my mom was making plans to prepare it during the weekend.
Contrary to the popular tapioca pictures flooding the internet, we make ours look a bit different.
Even though it is made from cassava, there are species of cassava that are not suitable for the preparation of tapioca. This is because some are either bitter or too toxic, but the normal cassava we use is the normal sweet cassava that has white color.
So when I told my mom I'd be coming home for the weekend on Friday, without having mentioned my craving to her, she went to the farm, harvested some cassava and brought it home and when I arrived on Friday. I saw it, and then she told me what it was meant for and I couldn’t be happier because at least my cravings will be satisfied. On Saturday morning, we peeled the cassava, cut it into tiny chunks and cooked for some time to make it soft. After a while we added some salt to it and allowed it to cook before we took it off the fire.
When it was done, we drained out the hot water and added some cold water to make it cold and enable us to hold the cassava and slice. We sliced it into tiny pieces until we had exhausted all the chunks. Normally, we do not eat it that day because it is not very soft and salt may not be well incorporated in it to give it the nice taste that we require. So, we allowed it till the following morning. Since we made it in large quantities, I was able to take some back home so I could continue eating. And that's how my craving was satisfied at the right time.
My Profession
Hi guys, it's a nice day and I'll be telling you about my profession. I am a political science student, but I also venture into tailoring. I really love tailoring because I grew up seeing my dad do it, and from that moment, I really wanted to become one of the best and pleaded with my dad to teach me, and he gladly accepted.
Starting life as a tailor wasn't easy; I kept making mistakes and also learned from the errors, but now I'm better. I now have contracts, and people are always happy when they wear the clothes I sew for them, and this gives me so much joy.
At first, I faced a lot of criticism and was often looked down upon for pursuing tailoring as a profession, as many considered it a job for the poor. However, with time, I started receiving a lot of encouragement which helped me to boost my work. I now have contracts and people are always pleased with the clothes I make for them, which gives me immense joy.
I also make clothes for my friends for occasions, and most of the clothes I wear are the ones I have made myself. I have learned to follow my passion in life, and even though I am a student, my tailoring profession brings me more gain and popularity. I am proud to be rated as one of the best in school, and I am grateful for the encouragement I receive.
I never gave up on my dream, even when I was advised to do so because tailoring was seen as a poor man's job. Below is a picture of one of the outfits I made for myself and my friends for an occasion. Thank you.
Work Ethics
The attitudes, beliefs, and values that an individual holds towards work and their colleagues, as well as their sense of responsibility towards meeting professional obligations and expectations is a skill to behold. I try to take ownership of my work and be accountable for my actions and decisions always. I also try to conduct myself in a manner that reflects positively on my profession and organization.
Maintaining ethical standards and principles, and being honest and transparent in all my interactions is what keeps me going. I try as much as I can to treat my colleagues with courtesy, empathy, and dignity. I also try to work hard and consistently to meet the expectations and demands of my role.
I try to manage my time effectively to ensure I meet deadlines and deliverables.
I also don't take collaborating with others to achieve common goals and objectives for granted. Striving to develop and improve my skills and knowledge to stay current and relevant in my field helps me a lot. I try to have a strong work ethic that can help enhance my professional reputation, improve job satisfaction, and increase my chances of success in the workplace.
I am Israel Richard Ebebe, Lover of Sports and Academics
My name is Richard Israel, and I am from Akwa Ibom State in the southern part of Nigeria. Currently, I am a final level student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Federal University of Uyo, also located in Akwa Ibom State. I consider myself to be a versatile person who is actively involved in both the academic and sporting worlds. Although I loved football in the early part of my life, I later discovered my exceptional talent in basketball.
I am Richard, also known as Richblack. I am proud to be a basketball player and an engineer. My dedication and passion for sports and academics have made me one of the most recognized players in both my school and community. Richard's story is one of hard work, persistence, and determination, which has inspired many young players to pursue their dreams in both academic and sports.
Richard began playing basketball after completing his basic education. He would practice every day in the gym and various basketball courts, and it wasn't long before he became an excellent player. In fact, he has led teams to several victories, including his hometown team at the southern tournament.
During my time in university, I led my team to the NUGA games (Nigeria University Games Activity), where my team emerged as runners-up, and I was the most valuable player and captain of the team. However, because of my love for academics, I stopped playing basketball and focused more on my studies. Currently, I am in the final stage of my studies, and I am one of the best students in my category.
At this point, I would like to advise those who look up to me that pursuing both sports and academics is not an easy feat. You cannot be fully available for both, so you have to choose one and let go of the other if you truly want to achieve great heights. Despite this, I remain a big lover of basketball because it brings me happiness whenever I play.
