Weekly Review
Tokenization is a contemporary, digital representation of assets that provides a lighter/once removed/more abstract method of transfer, assignment and allocation than is possible through bartering/trading physical goods. In theory, tokenization is at the root of the thinking behind the creation of something like paper money, itself a lighter/once removed/more abstract representation of more traditional stores of value like gold and silver. Gold and silver themselves are representations of value which are lighter/once removed/more abstract than, say, 1000 lbs of English wool, or 10 tons of Lebanese cedar, or 200 BMWs etc. What is required for these more abstract representations of stores of value or goods to work, however, is general consensus within a community agreeing upon a type of lighter/once removed/more abstract currency/money/token and the ability to exchange assets represented by this currency/money/token, with other people. Then circulation occurs. Then an economy happens.
In an international context, this becomes more complicated. Assets are sequestered within national boundaries/borders, which are semi-permeable but full of restricted access obstacles. Printed money works in one land but not another where a different foreign face is on the bill. Cryptocurrency and the tokenization of assets offers the world a realistic method of developing more reliable international exchange systems. This is the exciting stage where we find ourselves today, still near the beginning of this phenomenon…
“First, let’s re-state the fact that nearly all assets will eventually be tokenized. We are talking about trillions, possibly over a quadrillion dollars! The size of this market is beyond human comprehension. This market includes things like art, real estate, stocks and derivatives.”

Community DAO is forming as a socioeconomic backdrop in the midst of this global phenomenon. It is a perpetual protocol generator for any idea or project its members might conceive. Currently, we are extending our reach into 2 primary partnerships: Ravencoin and Alterverse, on the one hand developing a currency and on the other, a real estate acquisition plan. By synergizing this combination, we will establish the DAO’s governance models.
In the beginning of CommDAO, many of us had no idea what we were doing. There were artists, writers, realtors, developers, doctors, academics and more, jammed in the space together, excited that something new was happening, glad to be part of a novel “network effect.” Even most of the founders were barely ahead of the learning curve. We all felt like trailblazers unable to reference much because we were doing something fresh that the majority of society had yet to fully understand. There were some successful models out there but much of it was made up as we went along. But this organic formation, without apparent purpose, provided the perfect matrix for stumbling into developments without preconceived plans or outlined methods. Practical solutions arose based on meeting crises directly. This gave the organization a certain transparent simplicity that kept its growth natural and real. And in the process, many intelligent minds interacted and made friendships and began collaborative relationships, the basis of all communities.
The organization was hatched towards the end of 2021, in a season of hype regarding an investment bonanza on the web3 front. Through months of building and generating various aspects of the organization, we have transitioned through different stages of leadership, mission, purpose, and a variety of projects which could be likened to the creation of a micro-economy. Bottom line profit motives had to be temporarily jettisoned for developing certain aspects of communication and ultimately, a basic system for allocating rewards and establishing ways of measuring credit for contributions made to the organization.
We started with counters or points just to begin ranking activity. Yet that was not enough. In the course of research and trying to act in a timely fashion, we stumbled upon the Ravencoin platform, which seemed to offer a perfect path for generating tokens on a solid blockchain foundation. And thus the C0MM was born.
The only problem in building upon Ravencoin was that we were an aspiring DAO, which normally meant that we would be utilizing Ethereum smart contract solutions based on the EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) for governance. Several people began asking questions about how we could substitute the RVN protocol for a similar effect.
While we are still in a formative stage, the solutions appear to be already embedded in the RVN protocol. For reference, see lead RVN developer Tron Black’s writings on Medium…
So, on the basis of asset issuance, communication, voting, and scripted automation capacities, we believe that Ravencoin will enable CommDAO to address the major components of DAO governance, while bypassing some of the superfluous elements of the Ethereum network and the EVM operating on every node, a major source of high gas fees.
In regards to our Alterverse partnership in building a Metaverse property in Sky City known as the CommTower, the deal has been made. The tower is being designed and a new CommDAO whitepaper is being written which will outline our philosophic objectives and structure our governance into a body known as CommClub, based on membership and ownership of various levels in the tower. The timeline for the Alterverse public launch is as follows:
In the meantime, we will post as much educational and news material about the development of Alterverse, Sky City, and the current status of the Commtower, so that our membership can begin organizing to enter the world by the end of Summer/beginning of Fall ‘22, based on an NFT drive. This past week, there was a metaverse licensing conference held in Las Vegas. CommDAO member Jeff Lippert, Head of Growth & Development for Alterverse, was in attendance:
Jeff is a fantastic guy and an excellent resource giving us the latest updates as well as historical resources on the development of the Alterverse world system, a project that has been in development since 2012. Watch this awesome interview with founder Scot Kinney: Talks at GDC 2019 | Beyond the AlterVerse with Scot Kinney
Also, a more recent conference with Uplink: Go Beyond the Metaverse with AlterVerse, upLink & FlourishingAI
That’s all for the review. Just remember that in the midst of economic downturns as we have seen in the US and world economies over the past 9 weeks, there are always opportunities for growth in new directions. This is a perfect time to hunker down and build something for the future. Here at CommDAO, we invite you to become an active part of our experiment going forward.
Over and out,
DowDAO

What Is It Like To Interact In The Metaverse?
The Metaverse is a science fiction concept that was first introduced by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash. The concept of the metaverse is that it is a virtual reality environment that can be accessed through various means, whether it be through virtual reality goggles or your smartphone.
There are two main types of platforms used in the metaverse: augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Both offer immersive experiences that go beyond what we experience in our daily lives.
Augmented Reality versus Virtual Reality
Augmented reality is a technology that overlays digital information onto the real world in real time. It gives users the ability to identify and interact with their surroundings in unique ways. For example, when using AR glasses or mobile devices, users can see information about nearby businesses or landmarks superimposed over their view of the physical world around them.
Virtual reality can be described as a completely immersive experience where you are entirely immersed in an alternate world. You wear special goggles or headgear and are able to see, hear, feel, and interact with things in the virtual world.
What is the metaverse?
The metaverse is a collective virtual reality that exists beyond the confines of our physical world. The word metaverse is a portmanteau of the prefix "meta" (meaning "beyond") and "universe." The metaverse is created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space. It includes the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented reality, and the internet. Persistent means it continues to exist even without your presence there.
The metaverse is an environment where digital objects can be located, displayed, manipulated, and interacted with through your body movements and gestures. It's like a real world where you can move around freely without being constrained to a single location or piece of furniture.
People have always sought to escape from reality, whether it be through books, movies, or video games. The metaverse is an extension of this desire, but instead of escaping into another world that is entirely new, it allows us to enter a universe that is already familiar, yet at the same time new and unexplored.
The metaverse incorporates many different genres of media into one single place, including games, music, art, and science fiction. It's a way for people to express themselves creatively while interacting with other people who share their interests.
How do people interact in the Metaverse?
When you enter the metaverse, you become an avatar. In the metaverse, you can be anyone you want to be. You can be a human, an animal, or an object. You can choose your own body and clothing, or you can choose to look like someone else entirely. There's an endless array of virtual goods that you can use to customize your environment and appearance. Your avatar remembers your preferences, so it always looks the same way whenever you come back to the metaverse.
The metaverse is like a real city with streets, buildings, and stores. You can walk around and explore different areas of the city. You can see other people in this city who are also exploring it. Some people may be playing games or shopping at stores, while others may be using their avatars to talk to each other.
In the metaverse, you can do anything you can imagine. You can meet new people, explore new places, or create new experiences. You can go anywhere in the virtual world and interact with other people as if they are right next to you.
One of the most powerful features of the metaverse is its ability to connect people from around the world in ways that have never been possible before.
Here are some examples of how you might experience the metaverse.
In a business setting: You could use VR goggles to demonstrate your products to potential customers, or you could give tours of your office building (or even your home) to potential clients who would otherwise be unable to visit in person.
In an educational setting: Students could learn about historical events by traveling back in time and visiting historical sites firsthand instead of reading about them in textbooks.
In a social setting: You could attend concerts or parties with friends who live far away or invite them into your home for dinner or drinks.
A metaverse is the next step in online interaction. The concept of the metaverse is becoming more popular now because people are starting to understand how powerful it can be when you're able to experience something right before your eyes without having to leave your house.
Wrap Up
The experience of being in the metaverse is immersive and personal.
Imagine a world where you can walk, run, jump, and fly anywhere you want to go. Imagine that you can meet people from all over the world and have real conversations with them. Imagine that you can create things that are more real than reality itself.
That's what it's like to be in the metaverse!
